Global Warming (Gwarm)

Turning the tide on climate change

Description | Indicators | Scoring Criteria | Definitions | Issues

PROBLEM
Carbon dioxide and other global warming gases are emitted from combustion of fossil fuels, raising of livestock, harvesting of some agricultural products, manufacture of some materials and products and disposal of products. These emissions are contributing to climate change, affecting crops, eco-systems, water supplies, and many other aspects of the environment on a global scale.

GOAL
Eliminate creation of global warming gases.

IDEAL
Product system results in no fugitive or direct emissions to air that are known to contribute to global warming. Note that the current scoring system for this category is only based upon emissions from cradle-to-gate and does not address use or end of life phase.
